About

Hi, my name is Zedekiah Ethan Davies and most people call me ZED.

I am 15 years old and live in Sealand, North Wales.

I am a dancer and I absolutely love ballet.

My background

I was born in North Wales and started physical training at a very early age.

By 4 years old I was enjoying swimming and gymnastics training on a weekly basis. Within six month I had also taken up martial arts. 2 years later I discovered ballet and tap dance.

At the age of 9, I moved to Chester to take up a scholarship at a vocational performing arts school – at which time I became a chorister at Chester Cathedral. I subsequently received a Music & Dance Scheme (MDS) award which enabled me to begin full time dance training in ballet, tap, contemporary and commercial dance. It also enabled me to benefit from private singing and piano lessons.

Achievements so far

In gymnastics, I competed in the Welsh National Championships.
In martial arts, I was awarded a black belt in Shūkōkai Karate.

In dance, I have achieved the following awards:

Tring Park School – Paul Watson Bursary
ISTD Tap Grade 5 – Distinction.
ISTD Modern Grade 5 – Distinction
RAD Ballet Advanced 1 – Distinction

Helpers on my journey

Please see my Shout-Out page for information about all the amazing people and organisations who have trained, encouraged and supported me over the years. I am so very grateful to you all.

Aspirations for the future

I am incredibly passionate about classical ballet, in the style epitomised by companies such as the Bolshoi Ballet. My immediate goals are to complete the next 4 years of professional dance training, become a member of a classical ballet company and ultimately become a principal dancer.

Current endeavours

I recently joined the Residential Performance Company of the UK’s National Youth Ballet. I will be performing with the company at The Crescent Theatre, Birmingham on 21-22/08/24 and at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London on 08/09/24.

Next steps

I am absolutely delighted to report that I have been offered the opportunity to train full time at the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, starting in October 2024.

In order to take advantage of this amazing opportunity, I need to overcome a number of very pressing and very significant challenges – including raising the necessary funds.

I have therefore created a Go Fund Me page (which you can also access via the QR code below). I would be incredibly grateful to anyone able to make a contribution and share my quest on their social media.

With my sincere thanks,
